Jessica Maison
Novelist, comics writer, screenwriter, director, publisher.
Jessica is an American science fiction, fantasy and horror writer. She was born on a military base in Twenty-Nine Palms and grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan and lives in Los Angeles with her two daughters, partner, and German Shepherd mix. Her fiction explores a wide variety of themes, including family, survival, injustice, and the environment.
She loves reading and getting inspired by folklore, mythology, fairy tales, and good old fashioned ghost stories. She also writes and publishes comics. She began her writing career as a screenwriter and has directed a sci-fi time travel film.
Plastic Girl is her coming of age series set in a climate apocalypse, and Mary Shelley’s School for Monsters is her award-winning horror graphic novel series. Her short sci-fi fiction can be found on Terraform, and her short horror comics have appeared in anthologies such as Cthulhu is Hard to Spell and Nightmare Theater.
